I’m Aimee and I’m a Level 3 qualified personal trainer. I am also a qualified pre and post natal trainer.
I believe that there is more to life than counting calories and stepping on scales, I’ve been down that rabbit hole and it is miserable. When I was younger, I exercised obsessively, and I didn’t give my body adequate fuel to do that. I’m super proud of my marathon times, but I suffered as a consequence of over training and under eating. ⠀
⠀
When I decided to make a change it was hard. Years of my brain telling my stomach it could only have cake if I’d run X miles were not easy messages to silence. My legs were itching to pound the pavements. But slowly, one day at a time I taught myself how to exercise for fun again and to eat when I was hungry rather than on a schedule. ⠀
Now, I feel rested and energised. I’m proud of my body and what it’s been through and I listen to it. ⠀
⠀
I want to help people feel the way I do and enjoy food and activity for what it is, fun.
I don’t believe that health equates to a smaller body size. I believe that you can be healthy at every size, hence why I never weigh or measure my clients.⠀
⠀
In so many cases better health is associated with weight loss, but actually this effect is from the improvement in health related behaviours such as exercise, nutrition and sleep, not being thinner.
Health at every size doesn’t mean that people are healthy at every size, but by using health promoting behaviours I will improve your fitness and wellbeing, which isn’t necessarily being a size X or ‘normal’ BMI.
